We can see bicycles anywhere in Japan. It's look like that everybody have one bicycle for them to ride. We can see housewife cycling with a child/baby in a child/baby carrier, children, girls, boys, a man with a suit and a fashionable ladies with a high heel! Bicycles is a main transport besides train in Japan.
Normally shop, house and shopping complex will have a 'bicycle park'. I just wondering how they park their bicycle at a '2 layer bicycle park'. Might be of a limited space they have in Japan, they have invented the 'park' into two layer!
Kids learn to cycle at the early age. There are parks that have road with traffic lights and zebra crossing for them to learn the traffic rules. The office administrator provide a bicycle free of charge for kids to play with.
I think cycling is good for your health, as in Malaysia, we cycle for a health and sport purpose. Malaysian mainly ride a motorcycle because the weather is extremly hot and we will getting sweat easyly. Might be this is one of the reason that Japanese live longer than other people around the world or may be Japan is among the country with the highest cost of living, so they have to ride the bycle to save more money!
